Planète Métisse - Dates: 18th March 2008 to 19th July 2009
The anthropology exhibition Planète Métisse, to be found in the West Suspended Gallery, is an opportunity for you to explore our global and mixed cultures in order to better understand how different civilisations establish ties, come together and lock horns to create something new.
A series of cinematic visions from such directors as Kim Ki Duk, Wong Kar Wai, Alejandro Gonzales Iñarritu are being shown alongside Planète Métisse to compliment the exhibition.

A Century of Jazz - Dates: 17th March 2009 to 28th June 2009
This exhibition chronicles the chronological development of jazz in Europe and was conceived by the philosopher and art critic, Daniel Soutif. The history of this major musical 20th century genre is explored through graphic arts in all its forms (painting, photography, cinema, literature, graphic design, comic strips, etc.)

Recipe of the Gods - Dates: 3rd February 2009 to 10th May 2009
The Quai Branly Museum is proud to present a little known African art form: shapeless artefacts. These objects of worship initially represented the human form which, after adding on various layers of materials including piercings and bindings, has been made unrecognisable. The exhibition draws its inspiration from a model of assembly of contemporary art.

Tarzan - Dates: 16th June 2009 to 13th September 2009
This exhibition is dedicated to the literary and heroic icon that is Tarzan. Visitors will discover how the hero was created and unravel the mysteries surrounding the character. If Edgar Rice Burrough is Tarzan’s creator, then all those who played or staged him created images and collective representations to make him one of the century’s greatest myths.

SHOWS AT THE QUAI BRANLY MUSEUM

Africa – Jazz, Jazz goes back to its African roots
Great artists such as Jack De Johnette and Randy Weston went in search of their African roots long ago, giving rise to musical partnerships which are now rooted in jazz history. Equally, young musicians from other continents and cultures are bringing fresh flavours to modern jazz.
An exceptional ten concert line-up where you can discover, or rediscover, the sultry smooth sound of Jazz.

- Jack De Johnette and Dimi Mint Abba plus guests (America/Mauritius)
Dates: Friday 20th, Saturday 21st, Sunday 22nd March 2009

Lang Toi (“My Village”) - New Vietnamese Circus
Dates: From Thurday 18th June 2009 to Sunday 28th June 2009
Lang Toi gives us a vision of Vietnam through the universal medium of the circus. Drawing on everyday objects, using traditional body language which intensifies the elegance and the colour of the costumes, this show takes the audience to the heart of a harmonious world and brings a far away place to life. Young artists, men and women, circus performers and musicians tell the story of their Vietnamese origins. The soul of the show is the music with the tones of ancient instruments vibrating off the beats of the acrobats and the jugglers.
